Wait, what?  The 360's right analog stick works awesomely.
I'd only imagine they'd be redoing it for the d-pag.

Seriously, I hate the current d-pad so much. If they fix the d-pad I'll definitely get it, anything other then the d-pad I won't.

The Power Glove for NES is more responsive whilst playing Rad Racer than the D-pad bro.

Haha i dont really use the d-pad so its hard to notice. I pretty much just play the same 10 games and all dont really involve the d-pad at all.

I think they mean they're going to change the sensitivity and dead space, possibly also the resistance.

I can't see why though, 360 Right Stick is great.

I remember hearing something about there being a new European-only version with a raised D-pad that was produced for one of the soccer/futbol games so loved overseas.

The Red Limited Edition controller is supposed to have the new "fixed" d-pad. Also, the WalMart/Sam's Club Dragon edition controller also has the new d-pad design.

I'd also dig a new D-pad. I can't even count how many times I accidentally pressed the wrong expression in Fable 2 because of that damned thing.

The problem is that the D-pad isn't a D-pad at all. It's actually a third analogue stick with a flatter top, which means it doesn't have the directional accuracy that a regular D-pad has. This seems like an attempt by Microsoft to be innovative, but ultimately it's just a hassle.

Yea, I've heard conflicting things about the red one, but I know the WalMart limited edition one boasts a new d-pad design in the product specs.

To everyone saying the analog sticks are fine: no, they certainly are not.

They are of horrible quality, and become very loose/unresponsive after a few months of standard use. Go compare them to the old original Xbox S or Duke controllers' thumbsticks, and then come back and say there's no problem. I went through three controllers in a span of 6 months because of the crappy thumbsticks alone. I'm very kind to all of my equipment, so it wasn't just a result of misuse. I've resorted to swapping out my old S controller sticks with my 360 controller sticks just so I don't have to buy a new controller as often.

If they're just going to upgrade the analog sticks and stuff like that it shouldn't earn the right to be named "a new controller".

There's nothing wrong with the d-pad for it's main functions in games, but some games you want to use a d-pad as the direcitonal control, and that's where it messes up.
As far as stuff like switching weapons, etc.  it's perfectly fine (and probably what is was designed in mind for)

I don't know why it would need revamped more precise sticks...they are the biggest strength of the controller, the D-Pad is the only thing I can see getting fixed.

I've personally never had a problem with the D-pad, most likely because most games don't need you to use it. It wouldn't be bad (or far-fetched) for a revamped controller to come out soon, but it's not enough to make me go out and buy a new one.

What games even use the D-pad? Usually only for the inventory and stuff. Hmm this wouldn't be all bad, although the normal 360 controllers respond pretty well already.

I call BS... why in the world would they even look at changing the analog stick? That's the last thing on the controller they should even consider changing.

Microsoft has been considering implementing the tilt axis feature of the ps3 controller into future controllers. I wonder if they might add that to this controller.

D-Pad fix please. I love the 360 controller.. pretty much my overall favorite controller of all time. (Perhaps minus the gamecube, that one was great)

But the D-Pad.. oh man, what were they thinking?

I don't think anyone would have much to say about the current d-pad if it weren't for MK vs DCU and SFIV.  lol

An improved right analog stick would be nice, given that the damn thing can never be fast enough.  However, yeah...a proper D-pad that doesn't blow donkeys would be nice.

Weapon selection is not a main function in any game.  Try playing Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat using the dpad and it is one of the most frustrating things ever.
