I believe GRAW was my first 360 game. I had the machine a while before I got that I think though. I seem to recall just playing demos and things before I bought any games.

Same here, picked it up from the store about 2 days before the 360 came out and open it up to find.... the same shit that comes in previous gen game boxes.
Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved. I waited till there were other games I wanted, but I'd wanted GM for months before I got a 360. Believe it or not, there was a time when dual-stick shooters were rare.

I was not going to get a 360 probably ever until a guy down the hall from me got Oblivion. I hadn't been following the (then) next-gen developments at all, so I had no idea that the game was even being made. I was obsessed with Morrowind on my PC at the time, so Oblivion sold me on getting a 360.
Needless to say, I soon found out that it was super watered down compared to Morrowind, but didn't touch any other game for months.
I had to get my wife to sign off on me spending the cash for the 360 so I sold her on Viva Pinata and got myself Oblivion GOTY. The funny part was she fell in love with Oblivion, got the full 1250 on it, her only S Rank, and put in about 3 times the amount of hours into it than I did.
