The classic tactical turn-based combat returns in this modern re-imagining of X-COM: UFO Defense.
What DLC would get your money?
I'm having a blast with this game, even if I've restarted 10 times trying to get through Ironman classic.
Seeing as Firaxis has a habit of adding expansions to their game, what aspect do you feel would best improve XCOM... as in, what would you spend cash on.
I realize these are all individual categories and an expansion generally adds most, if not all of the above. Regardless try to think of the thing that would make the biggest difference to you (I voted for more aliens).
I guess new missions, but what I'd really want is a traditional expansion pack with its own mini campaign. Maybe something Terror from the Deep related. That would be kind of silly as a new full fledged game, but pretty cool as a smaller add on. I guess what I'm really after is all of the above.
I'd pay for anything that is more than a skin pack, really.
I would LOVE a random one off mission mode and/or a points-based mode, as well as scenario missions and scenario campaigns.
Playing as the aliens in a campsign would also be a cool novelty
I am personally a huge fan of new game + options in just about any game. After completing the campaign, I'd like an option to play again on a harder difficulty with more options for upgrades and base expansion ... perhaps with the option to get my lost soldiers back. I know that some people are against this, however, if we are ever attacked by ET, I hope we are not sending in a bunch of rookies and just starting to build facilities.

This is literally already in the game, just dummied out.
I would pay a buck if they lazily slapped on a blue filter and called it Terror From the Deep.
But realistically, I would want more enemy types, and with that new technology to research.

I'm sure there are lots of underground bases prepared in case ET attacks ;)
I'd like an expanded campaign mode. Maybe some scenarios that play parallel to the main campaign on the perspective of a different group. Maybe as a group of normal civilians against the aliens.
Im not sure I want any DLC at all, I feel Im done with this game even as great as it was. Might be because I spent so much time with it over such a short period. Ask me again in a week or two and I might change my mind :p
I think a nice plus would be some type of skirmish/exhibition mode. The ability to just randomly generate a map with whatever tile set you would want, and mission type, in like one-off scenario missions would be fun. Even go one step further and add a little bit of co-op. Let you comp stomp on maps with a buddy who can control half of the squad, and you get the other half (I would be down for that).
Outside of that though (all of the additions would be nice), I am a sucker for new ways to destroy aliens. So new weapons/research/armor would get the "loot" whore in me stoked, which in turn leads me to transferring funds their way.

What does "just dummied out" mean? I just finished my first alien base so I've yet to see what replay options there are. Glad to hear that there is a NG+
None of them. I want more multiplayer shit. The multiplayer is so tacked on and bare bones, and the maps sucks. There's 80 maps in singleplayer and they only gave us 5 (of the most uninteresting ones) in multiplayer. I want them to flesh it out- Give us sectopods and SHIVs and all of the singleplayer maps. I mean it's so terrible, that when I lost connection one day it popped up and told me the live service was down and I could only play system link games. Totally lazy. I mean when a game gets a 5/5 I'd expect every feature to be reviewed, but apparently every site ignored multiplayer completely- It didn't even factor into reviews apparently.
Let me crush the puny humans.
But I could also see some interesting co op stuff. You and your friend govern different bases in the world and your both doing missions at the same time and affecting panic levels and such. You could share resources and play missions together ( you both send 3 troops). I think it could be really cool.
As someone pointed out to me in another thread this game could use some motherfucking Vogons. That would get all my monies.

Would be cool to have larger maps with more enemies and 2 players with full squads dropping off at different parts (or just together), each with different objectives that once completed change to a shared objective. Something like one player having to deal with a bomb and another having to escort a VIP. Then once both are completed they have to fight through continuous reinforcements to get back to their ship, or maybe fight a boss of some sort.
So I'm playing through Terror In the Deep now that I've beaten the new X-COM and I would totally kill for that setting to be implemented in this game somehow.

It means it's not activated. It's pretty much the same thing as saying "commented out". As in, it's totally coded - it just, for one reason or another, was deactivated.
Putting it underwater and making it really hard but otherwise pretty much the same. That would get my money.
In all seriousness, I would like to see them get a bit more varied with weapon and mission design. Weapons are pretty obvious and linear, with the only real choice being if you want assault rifles or shotguns on your assault dudes. I dunno. Flamethrowers? Ion weapons? Special missions are some variety of escort, or those bomb ones. I feel like both could be totally awesome if expanded upon.
Functional multiplayer? The half-dozen games I've tried to play have ended in bugs and crashes.

Escorting a bomb into an alien base would be awesome!
I think that was me. It'd never happen but it'd be an instant buy for me.As someone pointed out to me in another thread this game could use some motherfucking Vogons. That would get all my monies.
Other than that I would love to see a campaign expansion (not TFTD, I'd like to see something original) or a skirmish mode. I'd also like to see an alien campaign.
There's no 'none' option? The game is solid on it's own, I don't think anything listed here would really entice me to laying down more money.
Terror from the deep please.Anything, probably. Except new cutscenes. Or more bugs. I love the game enough that I'll be a sucker and buy whatever they offer.
I would love an expansion where you have to assault Cydonia. For those who don't know in the original game you have to go to Mars and destroy the alien base in our solar system. They could throw in a couple extra weapons, a new soldier rank, perhaps a new alien type, and the research needed to build the transport to Mars.
That being said I would buy just about any expansion. Love everything about this game.
I don't know, I'm still enjoying the game, and would probably enjoy more of the same, but the idea of a fresh campaign, either starting from scratch or providing upgrades that make my current gear seem like starting from scratch - that doesn't stir any fresh passions for me. I mean, it's a long game. It's amazing it keeps its very repetitive gameplay interesting as long as it does.
I might pass on any expansion that didn't significantly change gameplay, either by A) adding more squadmates per team and classes such that the strategy of success is significantly altered or B) Creating a different sort of campaign. For example, if they took the management aspect and fleshed that out to a full strategy game, where you deploy troops and resources to the various theaters without always (or maybe even ever) having direct control over them.
Probably unrealistic, but it's my money to spend or not spend.
I'd like to try playing as the Aliens in the campaign. Or an expansion where you go to the Aliens' homeworld and try to wreck their shit.
Also new stuff like Mech suits, upgradeable skyrangers, more dudes in missions, maybe tactical abilities like airstrikes or have your skyranger act as a gunship. Basically just expand on the stuff we already got, but I'd guess they'd save stuff like this for the inevitable sequel.
I'd like to deploy multiple teams to different missions (perhaps allowing you to have a base per continent with a team per base), with a correspondingly much higher rate of attacks.
This would introduce the option of having distinct teams with distinct specialisations (perhaps introducing team-based skills based upon class composition or time spent fighting alongside each other), meaning you'd send your urban rescue specialists to that Terror Mission in Tokyo, while your elite sniper team set up in Brisbane and defend an important facility (oh yeah, new mission types with you defending would be rad).
You'd need to allow the ability to simulate missions though, I think.
Greater base building options, spy satellites that gave you advanced intel on missions occurring in their coverage, the ability to board UFOs in flight, there is so much potential to expand the game in huge ways while still keeping the core experience the same.
I just want goddamn more. I don't care what it is. I put in about 30 hours on my first playthrough and have jumped right back in for a second. The last game that did anything like this to me was StarCraft 2. I just want more, I don't care what it is. This game has it's teeth sunk in me something fierce. Such a great game.

I'm still irritated that you aren't able to knock out two abduction missions if your round trip flight is less than the time it takes for the missions to expire normally.
My base is off the coast of Asia, it's literally 20 minutes round-trip to Beijing. Why in the flying fuck can I not knock that out, then get the B team loaded into the Skyranger to head off to Europe when I get back?
I will buy any DLC they release for this. If it had a season pass this would have been the first game I'd buy one for. Epic game and brings back all those great memories of the original. Can't get enough of it.
I'd also like an asynchronous multiplayer mode too. Ideal dream would be asynchronous multiplayer on Vita. A Vita version even would be cool so I could play this wherever I go...
Roll on the Terror from the Deep sequel.

Pretty much this. Expanded multiplayer and more campaign (with new units, story, base building, maybe new tech to use etc would be nice).
