A cutscene that is viewed through the eyes of the protagonist or some other character. POV stands for "point of view".
Where a video game comes with something "exclusive" only when you Pre-Order it, sometimes from a specific location. This can be a piece of DLC or it can be something not in-game or even "exclusive" or early access to demo or beta.
Swearing, cursing, call it what you want. It is an expression of anger or frustration, in most cases.
Puzzles may need to be solved before the player can progress to the next section of the game. Often it may not be clear to players exactly what the puzzle is, or whether the an in-game items needs to be attained before it is even possible to solve it.

Games where players are given material to read; this includes books, newspapers, and emails.
A red herring is a plot device used to mislead or distract someone from what's really going on in the story. It could be a false clue or over-emphasis of another character. Red herrings can add a surprise or make a challenge tougher.
This character has been sacrificed by the game designers to serve as a warning or amusement (probably both). These are the non-player characters who die at the beginning of the game or level.
Revenge is an act of violence, financial ruin, or emotional torment that one person or group carries out against another, in response to some perceived wrongdoing.
A sound effect that plays once the player has gained a level, solved a puzzle or reached a milestone within the game.
Two or more factions, either with the same or completely different goals, that constantly try to one-up each other. The player is sometimes forced to pick a side to root or work for during the struggle. Other times the rivalry is only mentioned in the plot.
If a person is made of metal and has circuitry instead of a circulatory system, then their game belongs on this list.
Mostly in games that involve strategy. It involves special attributes determining the strengths and weaknesses of each move, species, character or type. One attribute is strong against another attribute, and weak against another, often in a circular fashion.
Romance in video games can either be interactive, in which the player attempts to woo another character, or an unchangeable part of the story of a given game.
A person leading a double life. Many comic book characters have one and sometimes the plot of their stories is keeping their secret identities a secret.
Characters that harbor their past even though it may be revealed later. They are commonly uncovered in a number of video games.
Sometimes there are robotic characters that are programmed to think they are humans or have forgotten they are robots. Other times robots are meant to blend in with humans while knowing that they are robots. Either way they are eventually revealed to be robots as a dramatic plot twist.
Female characters who are designed with highly idealized figures and proportions, outfits that are revealing and/or form-fitting, and prone to ending up in completely over-the-top poses designed to show off their bodies.
These games are designed to be played by one person, and one person only.

Survival is a concept that signifies that the player's life is constantly in jeopardy.
Popularized by franchises such as Resident Evil and Silent Hill, these games typically involve a strong implication of danger, vulnerable protagonists, and disturbing monsters.
People who are aged during the growth period of adolescence, traditionally between 13 and 17 years old.
A television news program, often used to give a wider perspective on the events of the game.
Terrorists can be found terrorizing people all over the world of video games. While there is no consensus on how to define the term "terrorism", terrorists are generally considered to be people who express their ideals through violence.
What lies ahead, and is distant from the present.
It's the designer's go-to guy. If they want to steer a player in a given direction they'll lock an in game door and force the player to find a way to either unlock it or find an alternate route.
The act of changing an event in the past that significantly alters further events leading up to the present. This is a major element of many stories involving time travel.
The concept of a character leaping forwards or backwards in time.
Tips are usually used throughout the game as a way of showing players features.
