Given the popularity of the series, will there be a quick look of the game?
The trailer looks awful.

I watched the show and just got into the 5th book. The game is supposed to be about old battles before the books right? Because if done right that would be amazing. I want to fight along Nymeria in Dorne, conquer the seven kingdoms with Aegon and and destroy the shit out of Castamere.

Unless it's really funny/terrible, I don't want them to waste their time with it.
I thought the purpose of the QL was to determine that. They're getting paid, I'm fine with them playing a mediocre game for 30 minutes if it sheds more light on the game for everyone else.
Yeah not really, I love the books/series so much, hard to see anything live up to it.@TaliciaDragonsong said:
This shit is probably horrible and soon forgotten. If there's any hope. So, keeping an open mind then?
based on this video, this game doesn't have any actual diplomacy/crazy politicking at all. so I won't be buying it
@StaticFalconar: No biggie Dude but that's meant to be on SNES not Geneis. It's a callback to SNES games like Final Fantasy and Chrono Trigger, it looks, sounds and moves just like they did. Mode 7.
@SeriouslyNow: Few previews/reviews for Game of Thrones: Genesis for PC, so we get a Sega Genesis preview. RDRR? I thought it was funny. (Puns aside, it looks an awful lot like the Sega Genesis Phantasy Star games as well.)
I would love to see a Giantbomb preview or even review of the PC game. Even if it's a stinker, I'm enough of a Song of Ice and Fire fan to play it solely for the extra tidbits of fiction.
please quick look! part of the draw of this site for me has always been quick-looks of games that don't have much coverage elsewhere, even if they are often on questionable quality. i can see tons of footage of a game like gears 3, but something like this is why i come to GB.
game isn't all that bad, not great but not awful either, some pretty neat concepts with the way you can go about getting towns on your side and such... only played a little bit but yeh i only paid £17 and expected it to be god awful so consider me pleased
only problem i have is having to press ESC to skip through the opening cut scenes when i boot up the game because they don't play on high resolutions or something, very annoying

I want Dave and someone else who's watched the show to QL it
Has nothing to do with the show. Game is based before the books and show. The books offer more lore to this time period. Either way, game looks terrible and the wall looks laughable. The same team is releasing an RPG, also looks terrible. Shame.

There is actually word that GRRM worked with them in some way.
When I first saw this game existed, I knew in my gut that I needed to have it. It was the kind of irrational craving I haven't felt for a game since I was a lot younger, during a time I didn't know shit games were shit and why this was so. Nowadays I know how to gauge and articulate the quality of games pretty well, and could tell this was going to be a train wreck. Still, I was fully fucking excited to play it. Turns out it really isn't that bad.
The combat is utter shit, and would've been better served not playing such a huge part in the game, at least as it is. The diplomacy stuff, however, is really cool. In one mission I was charged with protecting the integrity of the House's borders from intrusion, but while this was happening I sent spies out to enter into secret agreements with all the enemy towns. When eventually I had "held out" and war fully broke out, I won by default because all the enemy towns turned to my side.
Also, in the multiplayer maps you don't choose the Houses, they are chosen for you depending on which region of Westeros the map is set in, and always start in their own House seat. There's an 8 player map that covers all of Westeros, and that's pretty fucking cool.
