Pretty bad timing on Ubisoft's part.  The media can only fawn over one thing at a time.  Ubisoft do seem to have taken a game that people either loved or hated, and tried to turn it into game which everybody will like.  I think that's a mistake. I think they paid too much attention to those that hated the first so much, they probably won't buy the second regardless of ...

I think you missed the point.  The vault (Pandora's Box) was just a prison for the squid monster (all evils).  There is no loot - Angel wanted you to be there solely to whoop the shit out of the squid monster (presumably because she knew Atlas + Tannis were going to open it anyway).  Unless something different happens at the end of playthrough 2 (anybody?).
