Overview
Abyss Boat (アビスボート) is a an action adventure horror game developed by Aquaplus, parent company of Leaf, and released for the PC in January 2002. The title was directed and written by Akihide Takebayashi, under the name "Blue-Purple," and was the first game published by the company to feature polygonal 3D graphics. However, Abyss Boat was not released at retail stores but instead given away for free to members of Leaf's fan club, who received the game as a New Year's gift in 2002. The game was not well received at the time and lines from its story eventually became in-jokes within the Leaf fandom in Japan.
