From Beat-em-ups to fighting games to modern FPS, one dude hitting another has made an enjoyable pastime.
Multiple fighters/people ganging up to fight another fight/group of fighter.
Professional wrestlers have appeared in loads of games over the years.
A large mass of people. This is most commonly seen in sports games where the crowd consists of a large amount of spectators.
These games are based off of established licenses, such as movies, comics, or TV shows. Examples are the James Bond 007 and Spider-Man franchises.
Characters that are designed to be scantily-clad.
Some of these games were trying to approximate the person's actual features with little success, and others stylized them on purpose. Either way, no one would confuse the resulting characters with the people they represent.
A real-life athlete who appears on the cover art of a sports game. Usually an up-and-coming star in the sport or a perennial fan favorite.
Who needs 2D when we've got 3D? 3D, or 3 dimensions, is what we're used to seeing in almost every game these days, letting us do all sorts of awesome stuff like run in circles!
A piledriver is a professional wrestling move in which the wrestler grabs his opponent, turns him upside-down, and drives the opponent's head into whatever happens to be below.
