    Overview

This Amplitude is a reimagining of the 2003 Harmonix game of the same name (which was itself a sequel to Frequency). In order to get the game partially funded, Harmonix turned to Kickstarter to ask for contributions amounting $775,000 from fans. Some of the rewards for pledging included being involved in the song decision process for the game, including one's song in the game (provided that person owned the rights to said song), being a part of Harmonix's panels at PAX Prime and PAX East, Dinner with Harmonix's co-founders, Dinner with Tim Schafer, or being flown out to Harmonix headquarters for various activities. The Kickstarter reached its goal with about 20 hours remaining on May 22nd, 2014. The game was planned for release in Early 2015 on PSN for PS3, and PS4 (Vita is planned as a stretch goal but has not been confirmed at this time). However, after first being delayed until late summer 2015 in June of that year Harmonix announced that the game's scope was being extended and therefore the release date was being pushed back to early 2016, with backers of the appropriate tier being given access to the PS4 version in December 2015.

    Artists

In addition to songs submitted by fans and established indie artists, the game also feature a number of original songs created by Harmonix specifically for the game. 15 of these fit in to the campaign mode and make a concept album about a woman receiving treatment while trapped in a coma. The rest are unlocked by other means.
