Kotaku is reporting a big legal battle over ARK: Survival Evolved: Game Studios Enter Legal Battle Over The Making Of Ark: Survival Evolved. Apparently one of the developers of ARK, Jeremy Stieglitz, left Trendy Entertainment and became involved with the new game. Trendy claims that he violated the "non-compete" and "non-interference" clauses of his contract when working on ARK by allegedly poaching some of their employees. Stieglitz claims that he only offered consultation on the game.
I am not a lawyer, so I wonder how strictly the courts enforce the "non-compete" and "non-interference" clauses of worker contracts. How serious is this lawsuit? Could the game really get pulled from Steam as the Kotaku author claims?
