    Advertised as a learning tool, Art Academy: First Semester provides 6 lessons and a range of art tools to give the user a chance to develop their real life art skills with the help of art tutor Vince and his pet dog Bacon

    Modes

    Art Academy: First semester has 2 main modes, Lessons and Free paint. Lessons is Art Academy: First Semesters main draw with 6 fully featured tutorials walking you through everything from sketching to painting. Free paint gives the user a range of tools to create their own masterpieces while gallery allows players to save their creations and copy them to an SD card and upload them to Facebook.

    Reception

    Art Academy: First Semester received generally positive critical feedback with Nintendo World Report scoring the game a 9 out of 10 praising the pacing of the lessons and accessibility while criticizing the high price.
