Isn't there a Giant Bomb policy to not really report on rumors? It's a fact that she's left, but implying that the circumstances are negative with nothing to back that up is irresponsible.

I'd rather wait a few days and read an actual story than a tiny blurb to ignite judgemental speculation.

This is really sad news. I hope she wasn't forced out or anything like the rumors say. She was always someone I loved hearing from at Naughty Dog. Here's hoping she can make more great games elsewhere!

Yep. I was already pretty burned out on the series after 3, but with Hennig gone I basically give zero fucks about it now.

@yummylee: Also literally no plotline in it was resolved. Is Nathan actually a Drake? What was up with those spiders? Why did Not Jason Statham and Chloe just disappear? The world may never know.

There was also the last-minute genie twist (also not really expounded on), and the last area pretty much just being the end of Uncharted 2 again. That thing is a goddamn disaster.

They even admitted as such. In a preview for The Last Of Us in Game Informer, they said U3 was made by their "b-team", and had almost no upper management, which certainly explains its scattershot nature.

I'm not sure how that explains TLOU being a total mess, though. Maybe ND is dead anyway and this won't actually affect much. Goddammit I wish they still made good games. I'm holding out hope for U4.

Except in the greater Sully per gameplay hour ratio of 3 compared to 2. Otherwise, agreed.

Makes me really wonder about the direction of Uncharted PS4. Considering that The Last of Us was the answer to the Nathan Drake serial-killer cognitive disonance problem, what is Uncharted in this day and age?

Not saying this to be mean, but with her gone, I'm actually more interested now. The story in those games had a pretty predictable formula, with 2 being the standout (mostly due to the setpieces and visuals).

Someone else writing for the series might mean that it'll at least be different. And different can potentially be good.

Hasn't it been reported that Uncharted 4 has been in development for a couple of years now? If that is the case, I have to imagine Hennig's contribution to the game's story has already been made.

Regardless, Uncharted is a swashbuckling mindless adventure type of thing that has never had some kind of masterfully told story. Take one part Indiana Jones and one part Laura Croft and throw in a MacGuffin, sit back and enjoy the ride.

Here's hoping Uncharted 4 is awesome and Hennig goes back to finishing up that Legacy of Kain story.

The story in Uncharted was good but were never the most groundbreaking. To me Uncharted is more about the characters, that in my opinion is where the ground breaks. It's rare we gets characters so well written in games or movies.

That is terrible! But with a talent like hers I'm she will find another job. Too bad Uncharted will never be the same; to say nothing of any other future great projects she might have created.

Maybe her and Rianna Pratchet can collaborate on the next Tomb Raider, that would probably be pretty sweet.

It's funny how on a recent podcast they mentioned weird enemy spawning in the DLC when that was alllllllll over the main game.

Story isn't just plot man, it's writing good characters. Uncharted did this extremely well IMO

I love how no one has brought up the fact she is a woman besides those who seem to think that Patrick is pointing and shouting "SEXISM" everywhere. He hasn't even implied that she was forced out (stating that something is a rumor is not accepting it as true), much less that it is because she is a woman. Those of you who have read it that way act like you just want to jump at the chance to insult Patrick or the women's rights movement. I really question your reading comprehension skills.

Please explain why you think TLoU is "a total mess". It's absolutely fine to not like a certain game, but a total mess? I really want to know what mind hurdles you're jumping to get to that conclusion.

@bunnymud: The new Donkey Kong is pretty great! But I play PC games mostly. Might be why I couldn't tolerate TLOU looking so awful. Console fanboyism is pretty dumb. I think the Xone is pretty bad but I'll get one when the Sunset Overdrive console bundle comes out, since I love Insomniac when they aren't making Resistance.

But sure, it's craaaazy to think something rushed out at the end of a console cycle was a technical disaster. I would definitely try a PS4 remake of the game if it smoothed out a lot of that, fixed the enemy spawns/despawns, friendly AI, etc.

@kpaadet: It's just the new FF7. Eventually, like with that game, people will figure out it was never very good to begin with.

Official statements from ND have been released about this, it basically reads: "Shut the fuck up you dumb motherfuckers, she left all on her own accord to take on other ventures, there was no drama behind the scenes you everything-dramatizing internet nitwits, jesus fucking christ"

Just to add a perspective from somebody who also didn't enjoy the game...

I wouldn't say it was a total mess, but it was basically good characters, dialog and settings....mixed with the gameplay from manhunt. Which had terrible gameplay IMO. I only got a few hours in and just couldn't get through it.

I can see why people like it, i think for a lot of people it's story>>gameplay. I mean honsetly i enjoyed the first uncharted and it didn't have the best gameplay all around either lol. But to me manhunt was one of the worst games i'd ever played, and this felt wayyyyy to much like that IMO

@oursin_360: Oh wow, you're right. I knew it reminded me of something but for some reason I completely forgot about Manhunt. That's exactly it.

But yeah, I think story can definitely trump gameplay, I like Telltale's games a lot, but those games also ARE the story. They aren't good cutscenes between extended sequences of unenjoyable stealth.
