This is really sad news, He was an amazing artist.

Cancer is a tragic thing. I thank Adam for his contributions at Bethesda to make some of the greatest games ever made. He's touched the lives of many people, if anyone truly enjoyed fallout 3 and Skyrim's environment and over all tone to the world then you owe it to him. And I owe you my thanks Adam. R.I.P.

I loved the concept art he produced for Fallout 3 but I feel it wasn't until Skyrim that his vision could really be seen in the world. He may have died young but what a magnificent legacy to leave behind.

That's tragic, so young too.

A man so great they named him twice and added an "owicz" at the end to drive the name home. Now he's in Heaven creating awesome game designs with Jesus.

R.I.P. sir. I may not play Bethesda's RPGs (only Bethesda game on my shelf currently is RAGE), but I certainly respect 'em. You did some great work.

I think they had an interview with him on the Bethesda Podcast last year, he was really passionate about these games. A terrible loss, thoughts with his family.

The fact that there is even an article about this is a little sad. I guess you assumed everyone here didn't know about him prior to his death huh? Well obviously you assumed wrong since I actually knew about this guy and followed his works ever since I learned that Bethesda bought the IP of Fallout from Interplay and learning that it had a new art direction instead of Brian Mckenzie's (Fallout 1 & 2's concept artist) original concept designs. Not to mention I frequent www.3dtotal.com (where I seek references and guides in order to do my work better being a professional matte painter and aspiring concept illustrator myself) was where I learned about this guy back in 2007.

Yes I know don't get me wrong I understand you're rant about people who suddenly become sympathetic only when they learned of his/her death without having any idea on who he/she was. Simply just saying that you can't assume that everyone on this site didn't know him prior to his death and I'm also sure I'm not the only art professional in this site as well who may have possibly followed his works too for reference and inspiration.

I remember getting the Fallout 3 collector's edition and really enjoying the art book. Yeah, it doesn't translate as well to the actual game, but this is a sad occurrence nonetheless.

@A: This man created something that touched many of the people in this community. In this way, he gave something to each and every person who enjoyed the games he helped create. His life touched our own in some small way. Some people may feel a sense of loss that they will never see the awesome/touching/inspiring whatever he may have gone on to create, that may have affected them in a similar way.

You don't have to know someone to mourn the loss of what they meant to you personally.

He had a lot to be proud of and i sincerely hope his passing was peaceful at the very least...the games he helped realize are some of the most beautiful digital worlds available and his contributions to the industry have pushed the boundaries of what is possible in all of our favourite hobby.

This just furthers my belief that everyone knows at least one person that has had, or will have, cancer. Some might die. Some might not. Very sad to hear that. I'm one of the people that doesn't appreciate the things I see in games nearly enough, but there was always something about Fallout and Elder Scrolls games that made me feel like I was inhabiting a place of flesh and blood. Rest in peace, sir.
