Bethesda Working on Big Ol' Skyrim Patch, But No Timetable

So on 360 there's been like three or so updates, what are those supposed to fix? Anyone here know?

48hours and 800 saves, playing it on the PC. Only one bug so far cant become thane in riften...

The only bug I've encountered so far is that my character doesn't have a face. It's really creepy.

@Canteu: Can you break it down for me without making me wade through all of the information that comes up from that search? I tried looking it up and I can't find specifics. Maybe they're just basic updates for simple problems? That's why I asked "Anyone here know?"

Got the game today and put ten hours into it. Had the unfortunate bug with the flashing yellow screen, but a quick google told me how to fix that. Otherwise, I'm just getting a few textures going invisible which is weird but not something that bothers me because yo, this game is sick.

This is retarded. Either have shitty graphics, or unbearable load times. It's one thing when there's a glitch in a quest or whatever that they could have missed. How the fuck did they miss shitty graphics? Was it the day one patch that caused it?

5 Hours in and the only bug I've had so far were some PIllars in the Black Temple wouldn't spin when I needed to match them up. Leaving the temple, and returning fixed this minor glitch. Although I spent 25 minutes trying to solve an unsolvable puzzle because of it. Love this game. Textures be damned.

You guys do realize that this is an Xbox only problem? Why are you telling us about your PC experiences? Get outa here.

please take this time to patch in cloud saves for the PC.

It is good to know that when doing the Rage Quicklook we got to hear a ton of complaining about texture pop-in, but with Skyrim they were really looking forward to that game so hey, not a big issue. Game froze a few times, not a big issue. Flashing yellow screen - listen you get to kill dragons ok?!

80 hours so far... unemployment sure does have its perks.

I had a Draugr bug out and start flying around the barrow near the first town like a skeletal Superman, otherwise no issues in my limited playing time.

...and that bug was fucking hilarious.

I have encountered a bug where every single guard, in every town wants to kill me. I can't pay a fine. I can't go to jail. I can only die every time I enter a town. I tried going back about twenty saves, when it used to work fine, and they still kill me. Oh well. I have absolutely no problem starting over the game is so freaking good (unless of course someone knows how to fix it. Please).

What texture issue?

45 hours on PS3, no bugs. I'm pretty happy about that.

On the 360 I have only really encountered one bug, when I talk to an NPC (usually when completing a quest) I will have the dialogue options but it won't let me actually select an option.  I usually back out of the dialogue menu and wait a few seconds and try again and then it works fine.  I avoided the texture bug by simply not installing, the extra load times are painful but not game breaking. 
 
I'm roughly 15 hours in.

I've put in about 12 hours so far and haven't had any issues with bugs or anything, other than a dragon attacking what appeared to be an empty field and completely ignoring me. Which I'm not going to complain about, lol. I did have to download a 4 MB patch last night. Anybody know what that did?

I've put well over 20 hours in so far and found only 1 kind of weird scripting glitch, and it didn't even affect the game really.  Now say Alpha Protocol or Gears of War 3.  Both those games broke so bad I had to restart chapters or delete saves.  So yeah, we might cut Bethesda some slack but given the scope and amount of Game You Get, they are head and shoulders above the competition.

30 seconds after the Skyrim Title Screen came on when you first start the game it froze on me. I actually smiled..laughed and said "Oh Bethesda" Game is janky in a few spots but it is an open world game with lots of shit going on. It is also Awesome :)

the only issues that bugged me (only a little honestly) were getting stuck and the game freezing. Both are so rare though it hasn't been a big deal and if you get stuck fast traveling always fixes it... so meh... ya I look past the issues 'cus the game is so engaging you don't generally notice unless you look for those problems.

Other issues are just awesome (a sabre cat flying into the air for instance when hit by a giant) so I don't see why that needs to be fixed haha

I really need to play Skyrim before they patch it. All of the bugs I've heard about sound like they make the game more fun.

I haven't experienced any gamebreaking bugs/glitches to be honest. One funny bug that I encountered resulted in my horse dying after getting down from it. The poor thing was floating all of a sudden and then thrown 200 meters away to fall for his death.

Another annoying glitch is the sound of random objects cracking and hitting themselves inside the Inns. I can't seem to locate the source of the sound but you can hear them in the background.

All I know is they better not count giant knocking people hundreds of feet in the air as a "bug".

please DONT fix anything this game is perfect the way it is, and the glitches are funny as fuck !

The texture thing would be nice though :P

40+ hours in and I've only had 3 freezes and one glitched up quest. I know there are a few more glitches I've ran across but they've been helpful so I don't mind them.

Every game in history has textures... Well, except 16-bit and 8-bit ones.

I the "texture bug" armor textures not showing up? I had that the first time today with 2 different armor sets.

For the moment I'm using the ENB .dll fix for my particle effects not showing up, try googling "ENB Skyrim Patch" if you've been having those issues. Still no fix for the no error CTD though.

emm ben playing it on the 360 for like 12 hours now and i couple of bugs the game almost locked up once but came back. red dead had a lot of bugs too and that game was awesome too btw i love this game :)

Ugh I hope its soon, I've been playing on the PS3 and I have to restart every couple hours otherwise the game starts stuttering like crazy, reminds me of when i would try to play newer games on my weak PC a long time ago.

I played skyrim for 20minutes before it started making my laptop overheat and shut off. I'm guessing the thermal paste couldn't handle the dragons. Now I got to wait 2 to 3 weeks for it to be fixed. I guess that makes waiting for a patch alot easier.

I like to think they knew damned well about that and opted to leave it in.

The reality though is it's probably just an issue with the physics system that they can't easily correct without breaking something.

As someone who installs every game to the 360's HDD this texture thing is definitely disappointing, but nowhere near a deal-breaker.

Skyrim's by far the most stable Bethesda game I've played. Really no issues so far (32 hours on the 360).

I haven't gotten any crash on the PC version after 36 hours, some dragons going through the ground after they die and when they crash to the ground on terrain that isn't leveled, they look weird flipping around but that doesn't bother me,

Most amusing is when I use my sprint power attack and the enemies say "get out of my way" or "can I help you?" and sometimes they say that a couple of seconds after I kill them.

Oh yea there's some there's some pop-in texture on PC but that's probably cause I'm on high settings not ultra, but for some reason it doesn't bother me, it does bother me in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood though.

I don't know man this game is so amazing how you find out about quests and how you decide what to do no mobs with ! above their heads.

I play these games pretty slowly. I'm hoping the PS3 save glitch won't be a hindrance.

Xbox 360 texture issues take priority.

This honestly i'v played around 30 hours yes I have the texture bug but the game is so damn good i dont care? So far this is the most stable game from Bethesda that I have personally experienced. With more bugs to get fixed just allows for a better second play through :).

24 hours in on the PC version. One quest bugged, one dungeon a bit... *ahem* crash-tastic. Past that, things seem rock solid. This is MUCH MUCH better of a release than Oblivion in terms of performance.

(I also think it's a far superior game. Makes me wonder how I put up with 80+ hours of Oblivion?!)

Haven't had any technical issues with Skyrim on PC. It is by far the most stable Bethesda game I have ever played. Not a single crash or broken quest in about 30 hours of play time. I'm honestly kind of stunned that I haven't at least seen one CTD yet.

Hopefully the patch will smooth out a few performance issues, though. Those towns sure are pretty, but they're hell on my frame rate.

I'm having pretty severe texture issues, and I'm playing off the disk. This is great :(
