Darksiders II Delayed From June to August

it would have been nice to have something to play during the slow summer months :/ O well I ahve a boatload of backlog trophies I could be earning instead...

I still have to play the first one over the summer

Sweet, take as much time as you need THQ! I"m really looking forward to playing this and the more polished the better.

So, anyone planning on buying some of their stock? It just jumped from $0.45 to $0.75 per share in two weeks. If they can make it to $1.50/share, that's doubling your profits. At such a low buy-in rate I must admit, it is temping...

Yeah Bubbameister33 beat you to it. I think because Arkham Asylum and Borderlands were both $40 in Canada I was tying them closer in my head. Arkham Asylum and Bioshock would have been correct but I missed the ball.

Yeah I agree that more time does not always equal more quality, I mean look at Gran Turismo 5 and even though it was nice looking, long load times and limited cockpit views. Or to go even extremes of long development time Duke Nukem. But this just being delayed only a few months isn't all that bad.

Fine by me. Gives me time to finish my backlog and get a little GW2 (hopefully) before it launches.

damn was really looking forward to June i loved the first Darksiders so this couldn't come soon enough, I guess August isn't to far off I just hope the rumours of THQ going under are not true and they don't end up gone before Darksiders launches and no publisher to take it over.

I don't care how long they delay it for as long as the game plays well. There have been far too many buggy games put out this generation as it is.

Well that's not too much longer at least.

I really want to play this.

Although, if I'm completely honest (and I'm sure lots of people feel this way), I am crazy disappointed that they are not picking up from the end of the first game. That final scene at the end of Darksiders... I seriously yelled at my TV. One of the better "fuck yeah" endings I can remember.

At least it's still coming out. Anything later than August though and it could get lost to some of the bigger titles.

@Cybexx: As did the original BioShock, which is one of the most important games of this generation.

I don't mind waiting for this to be released. Gives me time to finish the original Darksiders. Only just got to Silitha's Loom, really enjoying it!

Oh right for some reason the $40 launch price (Canada) on Borderlands and Arkham Ayslum were tying them together closer in my head. At least I got one right.

More time to replay and actually finish the first game, so not complaining! Unless I just use that time to play more Diablo 3, Max Payne 3 and so...

I'll find a copy of the first and play through it again over summer. I want to see if I still think it's as amazing as I remember.

Darksiders was so awesome, so I'm bummed to hear about this delay. The ending of Darksiders was one of the biggest fist-pumping moments in video games, and while it's kind of a bummer that Darksiders 2 doesn't pick up there, I'm still definitely looking forward to this.

Disappointing, but I guess it will result in a better game. I hope.

More time to play Diablo 3 now.

Cool with me. If it means it'll be a better game because of a two month wait, great. Do that.

I'm always of the mind set that companies should put it out when it's ready. With in reason.

I loved the first one....Don't gonna buy this one. I have a lot of friends who worked on it (DarkSiders II) and were fire by Vigil without any compensation. Prior to that, they were forced to do over time without pay. Not good to support companies that exploit artists.

Finished Game > Release Date.

Good. Darksiders 1 killed my first playthrough with a saving bug, which caused me to put the game down for, like, two years.

Better games are fine with me.

That's awfully optimistic of THQ to claim that they'll still exist in August.

Quite a bummer. Maybe I'll play through the first one again to refresh the story again. The ending was amazingly badass from what I remember.

Exact same thing here. And it's weird because I love games like this, but not this one.

Wish games had more polishing and bug testing. (looks at ME3)

Hopefully it is being delayed for the reasons they claim, and nothing more than that.

I just recently beat Darksiders, after picking it up back when it was first released. So I think I can wait a little bit for more Darksiders goodness.

I had a difficult time getting into the original Darksiders despite the fact that I actually enjoyed it. I’m looking forward to the more loot friendly aspect of the sequel but damnit, I want to finish the first.

It must of been hard for Vigil to get permission from THQ for the extra time. I'm glad they got it though because I'm a huge fan of Darksiders and I know Vigil can make a great sequel.

The first game was great out of the box...I don't believe they had to patch it for the PC...at least I never patched mine?

Picked up the first one for $10 bucks at the Kmart closing near me...got to a bit after the 3rd boss and got bored with it. I just wasn't feeling it at all.
