Fox Will Make Another Hitman Movie, This Time With Paul Walker

"Mia, I'm a hitman."

"No Vin, I don't know why they went to me instead of you. Yes Vin, I know you're already bald."

Sort of great news for those who loved the idea of a Hitman movie, but weren't exactly thrilled with the Hitman movie that actually came out. According to Deadline, Fox is prepping an all new Hitman film, currently titled Agent 47, and already has a new actor attached to play the role of the titular bald-headed, bar-coded superhuman killer.

That actor? Paul Walker.

Yes, the monotone handsome boy of the Fast & Furious film series is reportedly attached to take over for Timothy Olyphant, whose own spin on the monotone killer didn't necessarily leave many fans satisfied. Well, to be fair, a lot about the original Hitman movie left people deeply unsatisfied for a variety of reasons, but Olyphant's ill-fitting casting didn't do anyone favors.

Still, that movie made in the neighborhood of $100 million in worldwide ticket sales, so it's no surprise Fox would be interested in rebooting the franchise. This time, they'll do it with a script from A Good Day to Die Hard scribes Skip Woods and Michael Finch, and the direction of first-timer Aleksander Bach, a "highly-regarded commercials director."

In case you've forgotten what the original Hitman was like, I've embedded our own Ryan Davis' analysis of the film below. When you're watching the clips, just replace Olyphant's face with Walker's vacant stare, and imagine him saying things like "Remember bro how we used to assassinate bros back in the day, bro?" It's fun!

Oh god, hopefully this means a bunch of Paul Walker impressions on the next live show / bombcast.. Jeff´s Paul Walker is the best thing ever. I laughed so hard whenever this would come up on the Hotspot.

As if Timothy Olyphant was the problem...

To be fair, he probably didn't want to do a sequel, but this is still a horrible use of money - Paul fucking Walker...

Man, all this Paul Walker and Fast and Furious talk is giving me flashbacks to the Hotspot circa 2006.

And I did like the movie, so...

They should give the role to the guy who played February on Fringe.

Or is he September? Shit, I can't remember.

I was just about to comment saying the same thing until I read you already did. I think Timothy Olyphantwasn't the problem with the movie. He's a fantastic actor. Just watch Justified and you'll see.

I think the casting of Timothy Olyphant was the only good thing that last movie did. Hell watch a few episodes of his tv series Justified, with the right script he could make one hell of a Agent 47.

As for Paul walker, I don't find him as horrible as others do but I do not think he will make a great 47.

Yay, i actually liked the first film but i have simple tastes.
They can definately do better than Olyphant to play 47, not sure about Paul Walker, at the very least it will be funny.

They could of course just get this guy.

Never saw the first movie but if they weren't going to get Raylan Givens Seth Bullock again, then getting Jason Statham is the best idea I've heard yet. Clearly he isn't above doing cheesy action movies. Hell, he built a career on them. Except Crank: High Voltage. That movie was just amazing. AMAZING!

I have no idea why I continue to know who Paul Walker is even though hes a terrible actor and I'm not a fan of Fast and Furious movies, but even still, every time I see or hear his name I know who it is.
So weird. Must be because its an easy name to remember. He'd be utterly forgettable otherwise.

@Mumrik:

Olyphant was on the Nerdist podcast a few weeks ago and talked about how Fox approached him about a possible Hitman 2 sequel. He declined. He talked about how the only reason he did the first one was because the Deadwood cancellation had come so unexpected and at such an inopportune time that had to take the first job that was offered to him. (I think he talks about how he had just bought a nice house and his wife was pregnant or something along those lines).

Now he's doing Justified and the house is all paid, so he's basically pretty happy with his current workload/income and doesn't want to have to shave his head again.

Hitman was a guilty pleasure - it had boobs, explosions, and that sweet knife fight. I could definitely go for another one, but Paul Walker? Are they going to shave his head? Not those gorgeous locks!

Why don't they just use David Bateson? He IS the literal face and voice of 47, after all. You can't go wrong with the guy who IS 47.

ah good to know

The only thing I knew about him before that were Die Hard and Hitman :s not a good look ahah. I've never been a fan of Timothy before watching Justified and then watching Deadwood after.

I am definitely a fan now though.

The thing that surprises me most about this was that apparently some people didn't like the Hitman movie. I thought it was fine, the only thing about it that didn't seem true to the Hitman games was that 47 doesn't even try for the stealth approach most of the time, just waltzing right in and blasting fools.

Maybe for the same reason Nolan North won't reprise his role as Nathan Drake in the Uncharted movie despite providing the voice, look and movements.

Being a voice actor requires a different skill set to being a regular actor, that and David Bateson/Nolan North aren't exactly marquee names.

It's always interesting to hear about the realities of an actor's personal situation, and how that could affect the decisions they need to make with their career. I think I'd heard something about how Christian Bale was a step away from doing some romantic comedy because a project had fallen apart after he'd bought a house with his wife. I think the movie that wound up saving him was The Machinst, and then he got Batman Begins.

Always interesting to hear stuff like that for me.

Nolan North has had loads of TV roles and I think a few movies too. If someone goes to watch a movie just because a well-known actor's name is on the front, then honestly that's pretty stupid.
