Frank West to join Chuck Greene's fight to clear his name after the events of Dead Rising 2.
Capcom has put a number on how many units of Dead Rising 2: Case Zero has sold: over 500,000 in its few weeks on the market. These numbers scream sequel, and Capcom is listening, despite the fact that Case Zero is more of a primer instead of a traditional downloadable.
According to Joystiq, the publisher has announced Dead Rising 2: Case West, another downloadable game based in the Dead Rising 2 universe, at its Tokyo Games Show press event. It will feature Frank West, the first Dead Rising's protagonist, in a fight alongside the first downloadable's hero Chuck Greene to clear Greene's name after the events of Dead Rising 2.
Details are light, but Capcom did say that the title will be an Xbox 360 exclusive, much like Dead Rising 2: Case Zero before it. And while it's implied, Capcom and Blue Castle Games have yet to confirm co-op functionality. Siliconera, on the other hand, is reporting that it will indeed put player two in West's shoes.

In other related news, developer of Dead Rising 2 and its two downloadable titles, Canadian studio Blue Castle Games, has been acquired by Capcom. According to Joystiq, Blue Castle Games' CEO Rob Baret said, "We take this responsibility very seriously. Capcom games have a certain flavor... we don't just want to make amazing games, we want to make amazing Capcom games." Fair enough.
sounds like a cool way to get co-op in and people will be that if they liked the first one which is more money for them, and then the game comes out as well... capcom is going to make bank
This should have coop with Frank and Chuck. Think how hilarious, Chuck Greene making retardedly deadly weapons and Frank West scrambling around trying to take pictures.
Holy shit this is awesome. I've been dying to know what happened to Frank after the original game ended. I got all the achievements in Case Zero over the weekend so I'm gunna HAVE to buy DR 2 now..
Disappointing but not at all surprising to see Capcom whoring themselves out to Microsoft yet again, this time at the expense of providing PS3 and PC gamers with the full exeperience.
Also, still pissed that even tho I bought Resident Evil 5 Week One and bought all the DLC for it, they're only still including Move support w/ RE5 Gold.
Honestly Capcom, fuck off. You're as bad as Activision now. I'll just buy your games used until you clean up your act.
The big question for me is what are they going to charge for this one? Since Case Zero is basically a promo item then can justify taking a possible hit to development costs in order to get it into people's hands and get them excited for Dead Rising 2, it worked with me. But this second one is very much like a stand-alone piece of DLC so is it going to be $15?
Also Blue Castle being acquired by Capcom worries me a bit, if Dead Rising 2 doesn't sell that well they now have the power to close that studio instead of Blue Castle going on to find work elsewhere.
Loved the first downloadable, looking forward to Dead Rising 2, and I'll more than likely get this. However, should we really be seeing this type of story exposition before the actual game is out? I mean, we can see that Katey isn't with them...and Chuck tells us that someone is framing him for killing thousands in Fortune City...
You know what? Whatever. The fact that there is even a STORY for this game is fucking awesome. I can't wait for this to end up being on everyone's GOTY lists!!!

Wait...that doesn't make any sense. Does this mean that the game is a sequel to Dead Rising 2? Or is it a prequel as everyone thinks it is? I'm confused....
