Is this going to be a thing where Bryan turns out to be increasingly weird, and the Jeffs get upset about the feature and ask Janina what the hell is going on and then it turns into a real-time acting thing?

Can someone who actually works at Giant Bomb confirm whether the reaction was genuine? The fact that people can't tell whether the confusion/bewilderment was a bit is part of the problem here. Because different people seem completely convinced about both possibilities, and either is entirely believable, like some kind of Schroedinger's Content.

That trailer is either completely sarcastic or the most pretentious bullshit I've witnessed yet. I can't decide if I should watch the first episode to find out or just boycott the damn series from the start based on the stink of that trailer alone.

Is this even a bit? I kinda think it kinda isn't? It seems like something genuinely uncomfortable is happening.

I feel like it's making fun of those long talking I'm smarter than you this is super serious essay video that got popular on youtube lately. The ones that Talk...in a...slow voice...to let you know....the....magnitude...of this production....If I talk slow...you will listen to my every word...and think I'm smart cause I use words like tropes, genre, and of the formula. anyone can do it with a few readings of cinema books and writing 101, it's kinda annoying cause it's causing everyone to overthink movies and label anything without a "point" trash. Oh and if anything isn't completely original or unheard of and speaks on the human condition...then it's garbage and overrated. Only those deemed worthy of analysis are worth your time and even the best work has flaws cause it doesn't follow some headcanon of writing stories 101 chevok's gun and what not...don't do a payoff I liked or saw coming...trash...did something weird that I had to think about for more than a second...trash...was too similar to another work even if I already know said work came out after my work (people who now say dune copied star wars) trash.

I notice a lot of people pointing out that The Jeffs seem uncomfortable/confused/disappointed. But I urge you, smart denizens of Giant Bomb, to consider the fact that they went out of their way to publicize this footage.

From the affected (effected?) self-wankery type voice over in the trailer, to the faux reactions from the boys, and Janina playing it completely straight, cheerleading this the entire way . . . this looks like it's going to be fun. Come on folks, if you've been a fan for any length of time you should be able to spot when they're putting you on. Maybe it's not as obvious as chucking dessert into a toilet, but this is them having fun and making something dumb and weird.

Giant Bomb taught me to enjoy dumb stuff. Maybe even revel in it.

This trailer is as much entertainment as the entertainment it is promoting. Whether it is going to hit is something else entirely.
