Kane & Lynch Busting In Your Door One Week Early

Game's done, and now you'll be able to get it in mid-August instead of late-August.

Lock your doors and board up your windows. The Kane & Lynch whirlwind is heading our way earlier than we originally thought. The game is finished, and IO Interactive's third-person shooter is moving up a week, putting it on North American shelves on August 17 and European stores on August 20.

Sounds like the game will also have some kind of pre-order bonus that'll get those of you who are already on-board an extra map and a set of masks that can be worn in multiplayer. Considering one of the issues with the first game's multiplayer was a lack of variety, it seems a little weird to hold maps back like that.

Speaking of holding back, there's a K&L2 demo out there, but it's been tightly controlled via text message contests and other, similar giveaways. We've got a copy of it and we'll have some video of it later this week, but considering that the demo is, like, more enjoyable than the entire first game was, you'd think that Square Enix would be trying to get this thing in as many hands as possible.
