Mad Catz And Microsoft Making New Wireless Headsets

Better late than never, right?

Ubiquitous controller manufacturer Mad Catz has penned yet another deal with a publisher to put out official products for a platform, though, this time they're for the audio crowd.

MTV Multiplayer reports that Mad Catz and Microsoft are working together to bring out wireless headsets under the Tritton brand for the Xbox 360, marking the first time a manufacturer other than Microsoft has gotten its hands on the proprietary tech that allows for wireless headsets on the platform. The deal will allow for a range of headsets to be made, including wired stereo headphones and wireless headphones that feature Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound. Presumably, microphones will be part of the respective packages.

No other details are being made available at this time, but both are slated to hit at some point later this Fall. I’ll add that Tritton headphones are no slouch. I’ve enjoyed the wired AX Pro headset for quite a while, though there’s better out there. We’ll have to wait and see if these co-branded beasts can beat the rest.
