Turns out you’ll be able to fight against the best without having to work your way up an online ladder in Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Earlier today, Capcom announced “Shadow Mode,” a series of downloadable content releases for the game that will pit you against a team of AI-controlled brawlers whose technique and move preferences are based on actual real-world competitors.
The first Shadow Mode pack will include the personalities of the game’s producer Ryota Niitsuma, assistant producer Akihito Kadowaki, and an unnamed “QA team leader.” According to a recent Capcom blog posting future packs will contain personalities of people you may “already know.” There's no word yet how much these downloads will cost you, if anything.
Here are some screens! Oh, and by the way, Marvel vs. Capcom 3 debuts on the Xbox 360 and PS3 on Feb. 15, 2011. Just a few more days!
