I don't even play games on my PC and I still bought Trine. I'm hoping they put Torchlight up for that price..

When I loaded up Steam yesterday my eyes literally started to bug out. Now I'm broke.

I hate Steam for all of the sales. >.< Because then I buy a bunch of games I don't really have time for.

Overlord pack and Crystasis for me so far.  This is going to be a long couple of days.

I downloaded Steam yesterday night, man it's awesome. I never thought I could get back into PC gaming. But now I finally have a good computer, and while I'm primarly a console guy, chances are I'll pick up Audiosurf and Defcon.

Damn you Steam and your ridiculous sales!!! You're the reason i can't afford anything outside of games...

... and right there I spent another 10 euros on Killing Floor + DLC and the Overlord Collection.

Damn.

Saw this news item, disregarded it. Figured they always have sales and I needn't get suckered by it. 
 
Got a little bored, booted up steam, noticed there was only 30 mins left on today's offers... bought four games, read the comments bought a fifth. 
 
Honestly Valve and Microsoft (Xbox 360 Deals of the week) are making me feel like a thief and an idiot over and over. Unfortunately I'm spending more on deals than on games I'd rather play. :(  
 
Oh well, my savings will console me.

oh, the new sale titles were a bit of a letdown.

I'd love to get Alpha Protocol, but ... 33.40 euros still? That's still more expensive than it is in stores.

I did check again. The original price was 49.99 euros, which they did - as you say - forget to update when they put it on the sales list. The sale price is 33.40 euros.

I did realize that they just lowered the price of Lead And Gold by 2 euros though. Now it starts looking affordable.

The publisher invested tons of dough - not just in the game development, but also in global ads/marketing. They still want to see some 'money' first (although I doubt, it is selling at all). :) "

" Brother, GTAIV DLC for PC for 15 euros = 19 $ - can do.   FYI: they patched it again (7th patch), to address the slow-downs when next to water. With the completely new shadow rendering etc .. this games is STILL a winner.   Cannot wait for Read Dead Redemption on PC though :) "

No matter if it was Comics, Print Magazine Subscriptions or Vinyl, Video Games.   In Germany (I live here for 3 decades) they sold video games around 40 Deutsch-Marks ( let's say 1980-90s - would be about 20 hard US $ from the past/ probably 40 US $ these days).   When they changed the European currencies to "Euro" everything became twice as expensive! We pay now 50 Euros for PC games and 60-70 for Console games. (60 $ - 90 $) while people have less and less money in their pockets every year.  Sorry for babbling ... let's just say, we all get screwed and we let them, b/c people pay 15 bucks for 2 maps and DLC etc :)  "

The ridiculous prices means I rarely buy games on Steam, except for when they have sales, when they finally get as cheap and occasionally even cheaper than buying the games physically.

I prefer buying physical titles though, but the recent over-use of super-restrictive DRM makes the value of owning the physical thing pretty small - I still have to be connected to the net or sometimes even register the game on steam or some similar service to get to play it -  especially since we don't even get printed manuals in the boxes anymore.

And I ask forgiveness for this wall of text. Sorry.

Galcon Fusion isn't that great, I bought it earlier this year in an indie pack.  It gets boring quick.

Dammit, now RE5 for $12.50.  Been holding off on that one due to what I've heard, but... purchased.

Oh, sneaky Valve, I just noticed there's a 33% off all Valve titles not announced on the storefront. Those titles were not on sale (except for the complete pack) a few hours ago.

Now I'm just hoping we'll get a good deal on the separate id Software titles, as I own the whole quake and Wolfenstein series I don't need the whole pack, but I really want Doom 3 + Resurrection of Evil for a good price. I might also buy Doom II and Final Doom if they were to be sold for less than 5€.

I bought Torchlight and im loving it!

I honestly hope i'm not the only one who bought episodes from liberty city before, I didn't buy it today. Still I think that games are ownage, yet I feel no one is even buying the pc version, they are missing out on a great deal. I didn't have high expectations, however it's so much better than gta4 and exceeds my expectations.

Also if anyone doesn't have resident evil 5 on the pc, it's like the best graphics ever. Only like four more hours and the game sale is gone. If you thought it looked good enough on a console, think again, this version looks superior and the control scheme works well with a mouse. Thought I should  say that, even if no one is going to buy it. If you have a 1080p screen, or X1050 monitor, you owe it to yourself.
