@woggerman1974: PS+ is $50, not $60. Also, that $50 will net you a free copy of Drive Club, a $60 launch game. So... yeah, pretty good value all the same.

One has to wonder if this the price of a starter model with no PS Eye and smaller HDD or if it is the full package. If it's a watered down version, this would be a smart way to come in under Microsoft without sacrificing the high end.

I can't believe how a lot of people are reacting to the fact that you now have to pay $5 a month to play multiplayer. They act like it completely negates everything else (no drm or online check-ins, $100 less.) It's senseless to me. What, you expect Sony to just give everything away? They still need to make money to run good servers and continue to give you good online experiences. Baffling.

This sort of move is what I wanted out of Sony, but not what I expected. Well done. I can't imagine anyone but the hardest of hardcore fans sticking to Microsoft now. They just didn't show enough to justify that price, the crazy DRM policies, and that damn Kinect.

sounded like it. but the text said something like immersive multiplayer, so dont know if it will add aditional features but most likely they wanted to get in on what ms got, the only positive thing is the discounts on games/the free games, the rest were are is still something that should be standard.
and even though i allready got ps+ and thing it pays for it selv multiple times over, i still think its stupid that you esentially have to pay an aditional fee to play something that you have allready paid for e.i the multiplayer.
and the price being the same in dollars as euros is still as fucked as when ms said it. i allready have to pay $100 pr game why am i still getting fucked both on games and consoles

I've not played a game on my PS3 for a while now (mainly watch stuff than play). But that'll change with The Last of Us this Friday.

Sony had some strong shots at Microsoft tonight. A lower price, the ability to freely trade used games, no online connection needed to play games. They said exactly what they needed to say. Sure, online play now requires a PlayStation Plus subscription, but it was already a great deal to begin with.

Not surprising. Unfortunately, taxation in Europe is a bit more difficult than it is here in the US.
