Thursday Night Throwdown 11/04: GoldenEye 007

Because even the Tested guys couldn't figure out how to trick an N64 into getting on the Internet, we'll be playing the new Wii remake of GoldenEye 007 on this week's Thursday Night Throwdown! Frankly, I'm almost more surprised that we're playing a Wii game on TNT as I am that this remake actually got made!

If the promise of two action-packed hours of GoldenEye action isn't enough to draw you in, we've also got three copies of the game--complete with a gold, limited-edition Classic Controller Pro--and a whole gang of these kick-ass Oddjob-themed shirts to give away. James Bond Jr. was fucking awesome. I have, like, two of the books or something.

Damn, that shirt alone makes me want to get this game and play this Thursday.

This games makes me want to buy a Wii. And that is saying a lot.

this is going to be the most painful tnt to watch, just gonna be 2 hours of getting a match set up and maybe 1 game.

I expect a low turnout but I still think it's going to be fun to watch.

I love the fact that Ryan had to really sell this TNT session, lol.

They should have two consoles so that they can set-up one match while the other is being streamed.

It's a shame Nintendo went with one of the most convoluted methods possible for online play.  
It feels like there's a real chance you'll get no players...

Hooray for xenophobic methods of playing with others online! Seriously, the Wii doesn't have online play so much as it has VPN play.

Being unemployed has caused me to completely lose track of what day it is, so the same thing happened to me. "

I'd happily jump through some hoops if the game were out in Europe. Sadly it's not out until Friday. :-( 

I don't know, the game was not that much fun to watch in the quicklook.  Why not do the 4 player split screen from the N64?  At least throw that in there for comparison's sake for 30 minutes.

Nintendo has the most fucked up online bullshit ever. I cannot imagine the reason for this bullshit. It must have wasted so much fucking time. 
 
But I really enjoyed the Quick Look so I'll probably watch this.

Jeez, that animated show looks awful. Let me guess, James Bond Jr is conveniently American, not British? You could have called the show "Generic Action Kid" and it would have still fit.
