Sega is really bringing the heat to XBLA this month. Having already launched OutRun Online Arcade earlier this week, it's going for back-to-back releases, today confirming that Virtual-On: Oratorio Tangram will be coming to the service next Wednesday, April 29th. For 1200 points, players can expect more of the same hot twin-stick robot-on-robot action that the series is known for, as well as high-definition graphics and online multiplayer.
There's no doubt a group of people out there who are stoked about this news, but I completely missed the boat on this series. I've got plenty of love for crazy stylized gladiatorial robots, but by the time I actually played a Virtual-On game, dual joysticks were a standard rather than a novelty, let alone polygonal graphics. Still, it's good to see Sega doing more with Xbox Live Arcade than just having Backbone churn out lumpy ports of Genesis games.
