I did, too.  The QTE caught me off guard and I missed it.  But, oh well, I want to stab dudes in the face, no broing out.

I totally missed it too and was paranoid the rest of the game thinking I'd screwed up.  He was kinda cold from there on out when I'd bring codex pages and I was almost certain he was gonna hold out on the flying machine.

It may of not have ended there, arty duder was almost certainly gay, on the evidence of his work alone.  There is no conclusive proof, but it's pretty obvious he was, and the common consensus among art historians is that he was homosexual.  
 
On another note, as a huge fan of the artist, I don't like Ubisoft's shitty depiction of the man at all.  "

there's an achievement for getting all the upgrades and such.  correct me if any of the following assumptions are wrong:
 
- you get all the upgrades from codex pages 
- you get upgrades from codex pages not directly from the storyline

But in missing the QTE, were you ever going to actually get a hug, that's the real question, maybe he'd have psyched you out, maybe he'd have said he was going to hug someone else, maybe he was going to lean in for a kiss.

I missed it but I restarted the mission as soon as possible and gave him the hug, I made sure to never miss a QTE in the cinematics while playing through the game

i missed the QTE, didn't bro hug, and cried all night

I gave him the hug, though I was still paranoid, thinking what would have happened if I hadn't succeeded in the QTE...
 
Man.. Leonardo sure is a lovable character.

My controller wasn't in my hands when the QTE popped up. Before I could reach over and hit the X button, it was over. The look on Leonardo's face killed me.

The real Leonardo according to accounts of the time, [Vasari etc] depict him as a quite graceful man, a demure deep thinker, not like the character we see in the game. As a fan of his work, I  consider it  a shame he's wasn't like that.  I think it's great that young people become familiar with his life and work, but if there are some that think this game gives a true reflection of the man, they would be wrong.
