    Aston Villa are a Birmingham-based professional football club, founded in 1874 and currently playing in the English Premier League. They are one of most successful clubs in England and were founders of both the Football League (in 1888) and the Premier League (1992).

    Aston Villa are one of the few teams to have been a part of the English Premier League since it was founded in 1992, usually finishing in the top half of the table and challenging for a Europa League/Champions League spot. They are also one of only 4 English teams to win the European Cup (now the Champions League). They play at Villa Park in Aston and have done since 1897. They are currently managed by Paul Lambert.

    Aston Villa have been a top-flight side for 100 years of their 136 year history, winning it 7 times.
