This game is pretty large by all estimates, so I am trying to calculate how many floppys I will need to purchase to get the most out of this game, graphic wise. Should I use the blue ones or the black ones? Thank you in advance.

3.5" floppy disks hold 1.44mb and the game is 16GB

So roughly 11111.1 should hold it.

I think a 5 and a quarter inch floppy disks would only hold 113kb (or so wikipedia tells me) which at Gav47's size estimate would take 148,470 5 and a quarter inch floppies.

Do you know a website from an asian country that can sell me a bulk of about 150k disks? Just to be on the safe side. I heard that if you install the game to floppys, it fixes some streaming issues as well as gives you an avg fps of about 300. I trust the internet.

Is there actually anywhere on the planet where disks are still used? Only good for plain text word docs, compressed jpgs...

I wonder how many floppies out there are still hidden in households, storing the handful of porn images that could fit in them...

Just so you know, most- if not all- the files for the game wont fit on one floppy so you couldn't store the whole game on floppies because at least some of the files (again, if not all) are to big already.

Try a Jazz Drive- its a wave of the future

    Have fun =P

I think it is safe to say the load times would be pretty bad using floppy disks. But this depends, would you be using Windows 3.1 or just vanilla DOS to run this game?

Man, command prompts seem so close yet so far...
