    Battle Fighter has players fly over terrain from a pseudo-behind-the-back perspective. Pushing up and down on the joystick moves players forward and back, as opposed to raising and lowering altitude. Players can fire shots against airborne targets or drop bombs against ground targets, making the game feel somewhat similar to Namco's Xevious, albeit from a different angle.
