Battlefield 1943
Battlefield 1943 -
I got this game as part of Battlefield Bad Company 2 : Ultimate Edition (which I Initially only wanted to get because the 'Vietnam' DLC...but anyways...)
I had seen this (BF1943) on XBL marketplace and to my shame passed it up a couple of times - mainly because it was a live marketplace game (dlc small memory constraints etc) and unfortunately back then I didn't quite know just how impressive the game would be.
Also it seemed a little pricey @1200 MS points for what I thought was maybe a simplistic stripped down MP game. I was so so wrong - upon playing this game I was absolutely shell-shocked :D.
Note: No single player option - this is online MP only, and be warned this game like most Battlefield games is dominated by experienced players - you will have to work at being good at this game... or end up dead.
So, yes only online multiplayer gaming mayhem to be found here :)
The game evolves around the WWII battles in the pacific - Japan V's America and is a real blast to play. For a downloadable game it is simply remarkable.
Hectic action with ability to fly planes, drive tanks and jeeps, shoot giant guns, pilot boats...
This game initially completely evaded my radar - but happily I finally (and quite accidentally) found out just what a fab game it is.
Well worth playing and highly addictive gameplay will have you coming back for 'another tour' again and again. Atmospheric and fun.
Only problem I have with the game is that because I am a little 'late to the party', many players are now veterans. Knowing all the maps and the sneaky hiding points does give a player a real edge...experience is the key.
Again when looking for BFBC2 I noticed the Ultimate pack included this (amongst other extras) so was/is a real bargain. So if you can, get it 'in-pack' but still well worth 1200 MSP.
Graphics - 8
Sound - 7
Playability - 9
Value - 10
Overall - 9
Bottom line: One of the best download games I have ever played, great.
