I picked it up for the fun of it, i remember thinking it was rather cool at the time.

Pretty sure the servers for this are shutting down on May 31st.

Got it because idk it was just a buck?

They definitely use Gamespy servers. EA hasn't yet said whether or not they are moving the servers or letting the game die (as far as I know).

Yeah, same, but I did remember having a lot of fun with it when it came out. It's not quite how I remembered it.

@jennibelle: I don't think 2142 is on Steam; it is for Origin.

Amazon asked me to link my Origin account when I put the game in my cart. Doing some more research to see if the servers are shutting down. I'll let ya'll know what I find.

We're good to go. The servers are being transitioned from GameSpy. All of the old Battlefield games live on!

Last time I checked, there's only 3 or 4 servers. If you're American, you'll likely have a laggy experience as most servers were European.

This was 3ish years ago, however.
