PC: Can't join a server with my brother? Deal Breaker!

#1 Posted by Stahlbrand (838 posts) -

Here is what is happening: we play PC and console games together all the time, we're on separate connections to a home network with a good broadband connection, this is never a problem in other games; specifically we've played tonnes of BF:BC2 together on PC and 360.

If I join a map and he connects to my game, I get booted with the error message "Connection Timed Out".

If he starts a game and I join him, my battlelog launcher thing just says "Connecting..." indefinitely.

Been trying all morning, no luck at all.

If I can't play Battlefield with my brother, the game is of no use to me at all.

Beta. Definitely won't be an issue when the game ships. They are ironing out Battlelog issues.

you maybe have a IP conflict.

or the electricals are not coming down the cables properly

It is only a beta. Report it as an issue to them and hopefully they'll fix it.

I think that this is network related, not game per se. Are you guys able to party up with no issues in Battlelog?

Are you saying you can't play together on different platforms? Or have you just worded that post poorly.

It's been reported, I've seen it mentioned on the official forums. People behind the same router can't join games together, as they have the same IP address.
