    Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is the second installment in this spin-off Battlefield series. It has a more serious campaign and a vastly expanded multiplayer system.

    According to an IGN article, a beta is upcoming. The article also reveals that squad mechanics in multiplayer have been improved, using "push-to-speak" controls to send commands to your squad mates. It touches on several points including map size, the level of destruction that is "miles beyond what we've already seen", and kit customization.

    Here is an interview from GamesCom with Karl-Magnus Troedsson. Apparently, there may be clan features, which he referred to as "Platoons".
     "There are a lot of different things when it comes to the squad play and team play that we're bringing in -- like context-sensitive orders and these kinds of things. We really want to encourage people to play together as a squad." 
    Seems like they are really pushing for a squad-based experience.
