Beer is an alcoholic beverage made from water, barley, hops and brewer's yeast. It is the number one cause of hangovers, poor decisions, and one-night stands in human history, but we always manage to forgive it because it loves us.

Can you recognize a beer brand from the label alone?

My second favorite podcast, the Rooster Teeth Drunk Tank, had its 100 episode today, and to celebrate they did a video podcast. They were all sitting around a table, with a bucket of cold beers in the middle. In it, I recognize Dos Equis, Lone Star (I think), and a 3rd brand which I didn't recognize. It's got a red label, gold cap, and big yellow 4 on it. I'm just curious about what it is, it could be a local brand, but I'm hoping it's something I can find out here on the east coast. I'm sure some of you drinkers can help me out. Thanks!

Through the powers of Google I would say it's this beer. Fireman's #4 by Real Ale Brewing Company

Also, I love the Drunk Tank as well, but haven't listened to this 100th episode yet. I was kinda hoping they would skype in Gavino or something. I miss that guy.

I think the bottle you think is Lone Star might actually be Newcastle.
