Depending on what contracts the player takes, he will fight on either the English or French side of battles for money, and in major battles such as The Battle of Orleans.
The plot starts from when Edward, the Black Prince (Main English Character) arrives in France and ends to when Joan of Arc (Main French Character) is burnt on the stake.
As the player progresses through the game, he will meet famous characters such as Joan of Arc and experience the historical story of The Hundred Years' War.

Overview
Created by the same developers behind Koei's prolific Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors games, Bladestorm: The Hundred-Years' War is set during the titular war between England and France. As an independent mercenary, the player is given the freedom to choose which battles to participate in, and is freely allowed to switch between fighting for the English and French forces from battle to battle. The ultimate goal of the game is to earn the reputation of a legendary mercenary by being a part of key victories over the course of the war.Plot
The story begins with a cutscene of a Mercenary on the French side, charging into battle. He meets a friend of his however, who is now against him on the English side. Gameplay
The gameplay in Bladestorm: The Hundred Years' War involves the player controlling many different types of units from standard Swordsmen, Archers and Cavalry to exotic Elephants, Camels and Magicians in order to win battles for money, from the contracts given from England and France. The player can then use the money to upgrade his equipment and hire units for service, to help him win battles.As the player progresses through the game, he will meet famous characters such as Joan of Arc and experience the historical story of The Hundred Years' War.
