A semi-official spinoff of the greater Warhammer universe, Blood Bowl has grown into its own franchise, spawning its own board game, rulebook, comics, and multiple video games. The rules of the game are a lot simpler than real American Football: score more Touchdowns than your opponent's team. Attacking your opponents with or without the ball so they can't stop you is as good a strategy as passing or running the ball, depending on your team's strengths and weaknesses.
Nearly all actions in Blood Bowl (including in the video games) are determined by dice rolls. The character's stats and six-sided dice are used to see if a pass will succeed, if a block or tackle will take down an opponent, or if a character is lucky enough to stay on their feet when running an extra yard. When a player is successfully taken down and they fail an Armor Value check, a larger die is rolled to determine if the downed player is stunned, KO'd, injured, or even outright dead.
