    A Link to the Now?!

I haven't played a dungeon crawler like this in ages, "A Link to the Past" being the last one. That's a hefty game to live up to and my experience with them being mostly in the Zelda genre might seem like it could create unrealistic expectations but it doesn't.

That said, I love this game and it's biggest flaw in my opinion is that it's too short(RIP) and that's why I gave it four stars.

The game opens with a grandfather telling a story to his grandkids and the grandfather then jumps to the game story with the heroine, Lily, laying in bed late for her own knighting. It's actually quite charming and the exchange with the grandkids and grandfather throughout the game is fun and cute. There are a couple of choices the player gets to make based on what the grandkids would like to see happen later in the game that is a nice touch.

The land of Blossom Kingdom was larger than I expected and at some points cumbersome to navigate but it encouraged exploration and I found some cool little side quests that got me some gear to use in the dungeons. There are portals situated throughout the land which helps with fast travel but there is no indication where they are on the world map so you have to remember each place by name, it's not bad really and the list of locations are color coded to make it easier.

One of my favorite parts obviously were the dungeons. They aren't as intricate and non-linear as a classic Zelda dungeon but they are fun to explore and have some puzzle solving that isn't too difficult. Although it felt like I was being lead to where I needed to go rather than being given the chance to get lost and find my own way. I enjoyed them regardless.

Keeping this short and to the point. If you want a game that's like, "A Link to the Past" on your Switch then get this game, you will not be disappointed. It doesn't feel like it ripped off the Zelda dungeon crawler games but was made by people that were very much fans of them and paid a wonderful tribute to a childhood favorite.
