    Brad Wardell graduated from Western Michigan University in 1994, attaining a degree in Electrical Engineering. His first achievement was developing Galactic Civilizations for the OS/2 operating system. His second product was also developed for OS/2, which was called Object Desktop. Object Desktop changed the skin and included enhancements for the desktop, much like the current incarnation of it. In 1997 the OS/2 market collapsed, so Brad shifted his focus onto the Windows operating system. Stardock still develops games and utilities for Windows.
