Buried Stars

Overview

Buried Stars is a mystery adventure game developed by Studio LARGO of LINE Games, and was released on July 30, 2020 for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation4.

Story

The story begins with the sudden collapse of the main stage during the final stage of a live survival audition show. After the fatal accident, the Top 5 contestants and a staff member find themselves trapped alive under the debris, with a dead body.

Who is the murderer? How did the stage collapse? Is the show still going on? With hours to go until the arrival of a rescue team, the player plays as Do-yoon Han, the 4th place contestant, to find the answers and at the same time prevent the situation from further deteriorating.

Gameplay

The player gathers clues, or Keywords, by engaging in intense conversations with the other contestants and searching for evidence left in the game's social media feeds.

Then, coining the acquired Keywords together will lead to conclusions, unveiling each character's secrets and the truth behind the accident in due course.

With every decision the player makes, the story will branch out in different directions. The results may vary dramatically and lead to different endings. The key to finding the true-end is maintaining the subtle balance between the sanity level and the rapport with the other characters, which are often at odds.
