Was there a conclusive "end" to the second one.  Or was this change as a result of focus-groups (speculation)?

I'd think there would be more interest in the Western setting now that Red Dead introduced it to the masses.

Cause a game called CoD4 came out and all companies thought that everyone wanted to play modern shooters from now on.

Or, they could have tried something new by making the game something other than a shooting game; though asking for originality from the video game industry and expecting it is like walking into Wendy's and asking for filet mignon and then being surprised when they don't have it.

Yes, let's blame Infinity Ward's success rather than blaming the failings of almost literally everybody else.

People are blaming everybody else or did you miss the "a game called CoD4 came out and all companies thought that everyone wanted to play modern shooters from now on" sentence? It's only the second post.

Because it's kind of a mediocre franchise and they thought it would make more money?

Let's be honest here, Call of Juarez has never been a top notch game franchise- they want to appeal to whatever sells more.

The setting is interesting, and they (as usual) have some interesting ideas but it's like it's implemented by newer game developers so they end up falling flat because nothing works in a satisfying way. What's sad is this is the third game- you'd think they'd have it figured out by now. That's why I tend to believe it's a lazy development team or they put the new game developers on this franchise or something. It's made for money, not for being any good- which I only say because this franchise is always mediocre.

That's just my take on it.

Thought the same thing. All the frat boys buying Call of Duty every year influence the game industry way more than some people realize.    They should have a game set in the period of the 50's or something for the sake of trying something new.
Hey, us Call of Duty sheep aren't all frat boys.  Bro.
