    I think people just like the swoosh sound when he does the backslide.

    i also like the swoosh souds but it doesn't seem to speed him up all that much

    I don't make him moonwalk. Mainly because I played a couple Castlevania's on the DS first, and the backward dash is L in those, whereas it's triangle or something in the original, so I always forget to use it.
