Personally, I'm on the fence. I love RTS games and I love the C&C universe but after being disappointed from the 3rd (mostly from the use of gamespy). I don't know, weather or not to start looking forward to this title.

What's so bad about gamespy? I've never played a game that requires gamespy so I wouldn't know.

I'm a fan of the C&C series, but after having played Supreme Commander, the C&C series needs some upgrades. I can't stand the limited zoom, the lack of full camera control, the lack of multiple monitor support and just how cumbersome the C&C way of doing things feels in comparison to SupCom.

That said though, I'll most likely be getting it. :)

Indeed.  Red Alert was fun because of the star studded custscenes and hilarious story.  The gameplay was decidedly limited and felt old in comparison to much older games like Supreme Commander and the Spring Clan Total Annihilation remake.

Is this going to be radically different from the third Command & Conquer? The choice of taking things too far with the stupid videos and actors.. I've yet to understand it.

No I will not be purchasing the game 100% for the following reasons:
    1. They completely changed the game after the huge legacy of solid gameplay mechnics for many years. Not only this change was unnecessary but they could not even carry it out well. As it stands now it tries too hard to imitate tactical strategy games like DoW2 etc.
    2. The graphic design of units compared to the more serious previous C&C games looks too cartoonish and wild, closer to RA franchise then to the core C&C.
    3. C&C4 uses almost the same hugely restrictive DRM that Ubisoft is trying to push onto players.
    4. My crave for the story can be satisfied by watching the videos and that is it.
    5. The support post development will likely be horrible since the production team has been informed that they will be let go as soon as they are finished with the game.
    6. How can I trust the quality of the product if I know that the people making it know that most of them will be fired when the game is done?

Nope. C&C3 was enough of a letdown for me.
I'll stick to the DoW series for now.
