Daniel has a son, Ben, who is emotionally disconnected from. He believes that his son understands the role of a cop, but Ben does not seem to share this understanding.

Unlikely as it seems, Daniel appears to be fireproof. Near the conclusion of Parasite Eve, he jumps from a helicopter in order to deliver special bullets containing Aya's cells to her. Falling from the helicopter, Daniel bursts into flames as he approaches the Ultimate Being. Shortly after Aya Brea defeats the Ultimate Being, Daniel observes a quite sunset with her -- sans burnt flesh, burnt clothes, or broken body from fall.
