Door in the forest is open and I'm getting destroyed by the invisible men. How do you kill something you cannot target?
Dark Souls
Game » consists of 14 releases. Released Sep 22, 2011
A quasi-sequel to From Software's action-RPG Demon's Souls, set in a new universe while retaining most of the basic gameplay and the high level of challenge. It features a less-linear world, a new checkpoint system in the form of bonfires, and the unique Humanity system.
20k souls spent on unlocking a door to imminent death
Too late did it for you. "Thank you Sackman"
Oh your welcome
@MetalMoog: You kill it by attacking it. Just because you can't target it, doesn't mean you can't damage it.
I had no problem with soul arrows sorcery. Hit the warriors that are visible, ignore the invisible. Then go talk to the cat inside the ruins. Everything will look peaceful after. :)

Say that to the ghosts in New Lando.
Say that to the Jagged Ghost Blade.
Well say that to my Jagged-Ghost Bladeless inventory!
Yeah! You tell'em!

Which leads nicely back to the ghosts in New Lando (Londo?), which can be killed without a special weapon and items when you are cursed.
Soul Farming is like buying a $60 game, just to beat it in like 30 minutes. Seriously.
Soul Duping can get you to Level 792 in under an hour, and at that level, you'll practically NEVER die unless you derp your herp.
Beating bosses at that level is like having a 99% chance to beat them instead of the occasional 35-40%.
All in all, owning a game when all you do is soul dupe is pointless. You might as well take your game out of your 360/PS3, snap it in two, and toss it in the trash. You'd be no better than that.
@Pieman51: Farming isn't duping, there's a distinct difference. Farming is repeating an action over and over. Such as killing these guys a bunch. Duping is using some sort of game code exploit in order to cheat through a game.
One is very much expected of you in Dark Souls, the other is for people who want to ruin the experience for themselves.

@Mmmslash: Farming and duping are different how? They both posses the same quality in giving you shortened time to make souls. Same with duping. The ONLY difference is that farming takes like 20x longer.
Yep. Let's not try to rationalize this. They're both exploiting a broken system. I shamelessly do both, btw.
@Lunar_Aura: I digress, I duped. At Soul Level 179, I was fighting Gwyn. Basic stats were balanced, strength was decent, endurance was godly, Vitality was decent. Nontheless, he kicked my ass. I was calm, and tried to persist. I tried 13 more times before I started getting mad. By this time, I knew ALL of his tactics and moves. I had the best strategy I could think of.
- Attack Gwyn after the short pause he makes in between combo's.
- Heal yourself when Gwyn jumps back (sort of like backstep).
- Keep shield up, wear a mix of Fire and Physically defensive armor.
By about try #6, I had this all down. Again, I tried 13 times, still nothing. The closest I got him to was about a little over halfway dead. Nontheless, I duped about 5 million souls, and pumped my endurance and vitality up. I tried 3 more times, and beat him.
Moral of this is: Gwyn is impossible. You can do the best strategy possible, and still stand no chance against that monstrosity of a boss. Did I mention I was using TWENTY estus flask? They were +4 as well. Gwyn is just retarded. I never want to cheat or dupe in my first playthroughs of games, but Gwyn has to be an exception to everyone. Unless you're one of the game developers, you have almost NO chance of knowing how to kill this son of a bitch.
So yes, I digress. It was the ONLY time in the entire game I had ever duped, so I imagine it couldn't have been worse than others.

..what? No, farming is not an exploit. Killing the same things over and over to grind out souls is part of these games. That's half the reason enemies respawn when you use a bonfire.

This sort of shit annoys me. Watching videos how to farm souls and generally figuring out how to play a game. This is probably entertaining for some, but not me. If a game is based on being hard, looking at videos to make it easier defeats the purpose doesn't it?
Agreed. But I'm also the type that purposely ignored the Drake Sword and refuse to use a bow just because you can cheese some enemies.
