Would you sign my petition?
Hi everyone,
I know I'm crazy for even attempting this but would you consider signing my petition to bring 'Dark Souls' to the PC (besides Xbox 360 and PS3) .

We need to show Nmaco Bandai that there would be a market for this game on the PC and considering that the PC has been a great platform for RPG's I'ms sure that this game would be a great success on PC and even could challenege games like Dragon Age and Mass Effect!
Thanks for your consideration!
Yeah, I'm not very hopeful, but I can get behind this especially since you, unlike so many other petitioners, seem like someone who loves something, but has a very cool head about it.
Online Petitions never work, and I'm not terribly interested in this game, so no, sorry.Yep, online petitions just don't work since it really doesn't take much to make an online petition and spam all the boards you know trying to get people to sign. If you are really serious about it, then go through the same process as a real petition where the names can be verified to actual people and not just IP address using troll screennames. Send that petition with the real signatures in a giant envelope or even go yourself to deliver it to the company.
But of course that would take real work from the OP and I just don't believes he cares about whatever he's petitioning enough to actually go through with that.
Hooking up a 360 controllerNot to sound like a dick but I can not see reasonble controll scheme on the pc for dark souls.
Uh not to be a negative nancy or anything... but this games developer is From Software. When was the last time From Software made or ported a game to PC? Because I can't even think of one. They are a console developer and while I agree a game like demon/dark souls could work on pc I dont see it happening. That said upcoming mmo's like guild wars 2 are almost similar to how this game plays and bear closer resemblance to action games than other mmos. Maybe you should take a look at those.
Yeah, its a word I never used, so it must apply to you.@Turtlebird95 said:

@Iron_Tool
Signed.
It wont happen though. If the game is coming out on Xbox that means Dark Souls has already been coded with and developed with XNAwhich means it would be extremely easy for a developer (especially one as huge as namco bandi) to transfer the data from console to PC. As a matter of fact it is usually done the other way around. Like, how Witcher1 was a PC exclusive and Witcher2 is currently only for PC but is coming soon to Xbox. This is because video games do not need much more development to make the change from PC to Xbox due to the XNA Microsoft programing (it is really mostly about optimization to the hardware of the Xbox). CD Projectk RED had time to familiarize themselves with this code for the PC for two games now and they must feel confident in the adaptation from PC to Xbox...yet not to the PS3 too. This is because, it is a completely different code to make games for PS than for Xbox or PC. So, if Bandi is making the game for PS and Xbox, but not PC...it is highly unlikely that they will because they've already gone through the hassle of learning XNA.
Creating a game that is not exclusive for consoles can actually be a "loss" of profits. They would have to set-up servers for multiplayer interactions which is provided with Xbox (not PS or PC) and would potentially lose a large chunk of their game sales due to pirating unless getting in bed with steam or other companies of sort. There are also ways to pirate around steam too. They run the risk of losing potential buyers of the game to people who know how to pirate that would have otherwise bought for the console. Sure, you can pirate games for consoles, but it is FAR less know by the masses in comparison.
I am positive that Namco Bandi ran the numbers and know if it would have been a profitable situation. They left the PS3 exclusive and went to multi-platform. I am sure they ran an analysis-- many games nowadays go to all three major platforms --if the ends would have justified the means to make it i am sure Namco Bandi would have done it.
Sorry, but, no matter how i think games should be on every platform possible to let everyone enjoy the experience...it just doesn't always work out that way.
Who knows, maybe it will be an even greater success than they thought and they will adapt Dark Souls to the PC six months down the road. Don't get your hopes too high. And hey, PS3 and Xbox have been having price-breaks on consoles at least...
