It was pretty flat for sure but I can safely say there has to be worse endings out there than it.

This is a fantastic poll. I love it. It's also the worst poll.

Yeah the ending is terrible. It's abrupt, it's not satisfying in the least, it doesn't reveal anything about the return of the humans or anything new about the ending of the first game, and it has a silly after credits cut scene that doesn't really play. I feel like Darksiders II's plot works for most of its play time, but it really falls apart at the end and starts to feel rushed and not thought out, probably because it was rushed and not thought out.

I liked Dragon Age 2's ending. It got me really interested in what's going to happen in DA3. Before that I really couldn't care less about the fiction in the Dragon Age universe.

I was mainly disappointed that there was no dungeon to explore in the Well Of Souls and that Absalom was such a lame final boss. I spent four hours playing last night, going through the last dungeon and doing sidequests, then went to finish the game tonight not realizing I was five minutes from the end.

I thought it was a real bad ending. Mostly because unless I'm misunderstanding it the end of darksiders 2 makes everything you did in darksiders 2 rather pointless. The whole thing was to save War who really didn't need saving going by the way darksiders 1 ended. And as that ending repeated itself at the end of DS2 what Death did for him was sweet F all. By the end of darksiders 2 you are in exactly the same situation you was in at the end of 1. You had zero effect on anything.

You cannot end on such an awesome cliffhanger and then make a follow up that makes literally zero progress. You know one of the great parts about darksiders 1 that set it apart from zelda? It's story.

Just made the game feel like a cash in. Lets make a sequal but lets drag this thing out to as many games as possible sort of thing. It's a good game, i enjoyed the journey and i suppose that's what counts but i cannot help but feel shafted slightly.

Also: Really weird how angry people on this site get over a poll. Jesus..just don't take part in it? Discussing the actual ending is better than voting in a poll.

Just beat it, gut reaction to the ending: it sucked.

As many have pointed out, this didn't seem to resolve anything in the end, and even a GLIMPSE of War would've been great, but no.

I can't help but feel some of Death's final words "I stand, at last, at the Well of Souls... with no idea what I must do next." are indicative of the writing process for this game.

Overall, I think this game was kind of disappointing. Just because it's massive, didn't make it especially interesting. I just beat Dragon's Dogma before I started this game and I think the story in that game, in terms of impact, is practically the opposite of Darksiders II. Namely, little to no build up toward anything throughout most of it, and then a crazy revelation at the end. Whereas this game seemed pretty much "Gotta get to the Well of Souls, don't know why, gotta go, get the fuck outta my way Cthulhu, gotta get to the fucking Well, where's the fucking Well Lebowski! Ah there it is. Welp. Now what." *Master Chief Death takes off his mask and jumps in.* The End.

And I really liked the first game.

The ending was about what I expect from a video game. What made it bad was how good the first game's ending was. I wanted more.

The fuck are you talking about? Darksiders 2's ending was just fine. He accepts and finally gets over his guilt for slaying the nephs and lets them rest in peace while simultaniously defeating corruption, saving the Makers world, humanity and War's freedom all at once AND sacrifices his own life to do so. It wrapped up all the games story threads and implied Darksiders 3's story will revolve around Fury and Strife locating Death's soul and resurrecting him so they can meet up with War.

I'm not seeing any reasonable point of discussion in the opening post/poll. For that reason, I really don't think there's any reason to continue to leave this topic unlocked, lest we attract more rage through disagreement.
