The 1000 zombie kill achievement seems to suggest there won't be that much zombie killing...

Maybe 1000 zombie kills won't be too tough. The zombie genocider achievement required a few hours of time, vehicles, and long tunnels of densely packed zombies. It's possible they wanted to make the achievement something you could attain without much trouble just from playing through the game normally. A $5 price tag and an easy 200 gamerscore will put this into a lot of hands. I'm guessing that's what they want because this is really to promote the full retail game.

Regarding the 1k kills and spend 100k achievements, did you have to basically spend a single playthrough focusing on them, or were you able to continue a saved game to get to that?

I had done a few trial playthroughs and got to leveI 5 ended with around $30,000 from each play.

So I devoted one playthrough to killing 1000 zombies and spending all my cash on Zombrex.
