Achievements are extra challenges added into video games that sometimes carry a point value or unlock bonus material, and are sometimes solely for bragging rights.
Active Reload is a gameplay concept in which the player can actively decrease the load time of a weapon by timing a button press.
A staple in modern shooters. They hide, crawl, creep, climb and jump, and are usually pretty weak but hard to hit.
Extraterrestrials appear in many video games in a variety of styles. Sometimes they're evil, sometimes they're benevolent, and sometimes they're very similar to humans.

Artificial Intelligence, or AI, commonly refers to the programmed behaviors of NPCs in a game, whether it's the fact that a soldier takes cover behind a wall in Gears of War, or that townspeople cheer upon your arrival to their village in Fable.
Some games don't feature a traditional co-op mode that makes the players equal partners, but allows a second player to participate in the game to assist player one albeit with significantly different gameplay mechanics.
Attachments are objects in video games that augment the user's abilities.
Audio logs are short voice recordings that a player comes across within a game that helps inform the player of the game's story and characters.
Characters that are described and interact with the character primarily or only via audio (most often through dialogue, but usually also using some audio effects). Backtracking is the act of navigating through previously explored areas, usually for the purpose of progressing in an objective-based adventure game. Players who are lost may also backtrack to reorient themselves.
When the player character (re)visits a certain area or location that was also present in a previous game, or visited later on in the same game, with some alterations.
Betrayal is when a person breaks the trust and faith that others have placed in them.
Birdmen are large birds that can talk or half-bird half-man creatures. Are often depicted as wise, in spite of having bird brains.
Winged, usually flying creatures, many of which enjoy perching on branches and defecating on unfortunate victims below.
Necessary to sustain life in organic creatures, the crimson fluid known as blood tends to make appearances when the body's structure is compromised in some way, a very, very common occurrence in videogames.
When blood will splash textures on walls or floors and even roofs.
Many Horror and adventure games use blood trails to either signify that something especially violent happened that spot and/or that following it will progress the narrative.
A board game is a game played on a mostly-static surface using markers or chits to indicate player progress. Many video game board games are based on tabletop games (Catan, Monopoly), but some, like Mario Party and Culdcept, are original designs that use board game design as a starting point.
Games which feature creatures who make use of the natural excretions of their body to lay waste to their enemies.
