Swedish Eurogamer is reporting that Rising Star Games is bringing the goth-loli shooter from Cave to Europe. Deathsmiles is expeceted to be released sometime in 2011. Great news for shooter fans as both the Japanese and North American release were region protected (DAMN YOU REGION PROTECTION!!!)

Great news! I've been meaning to try the shmup genre out for a while, and I've heard Cave is one of the best.

I assume by "väldigt tidigt" they mean Q1... gonna be a great quarter. Dead Space 2, Bulletstorm, Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective, and now this.

The European release is said to have the same slow down as the Japanese version, so leaderboards will be on par with each other for scoring balance. The US release supposedly is getting a patch that will re-introduce the slow down as well.

The release date is February 18 if anyone's wondering. Here's a trailer:
