For those of you who saw this pop up on the release lists or have seen your friends playing it (not too likely!) and were wondering just what the heck is this goth loli shooter whatsit all about, I'll be live streaming it for about an hour.

I have never heard of this, but, I am watching.

The shooter fans seem pretty hyped for this one but I've never played it.  I love the Raiden series and find stuff like DoDonPachi and Ikaruga OK, wonder if I'd like this?

@Diamond:I think I answered your question in the chat, but yeah, it's sort of hard to say. Raiden is an extremely polarizing series in the shooter community so you'll probably just have to try it and find out for yourself. If anything, just try out Progear and if you like that, chances are good you like Deathsmiles.

Excellent stream. I really like that this game has per-level difficulty settings, so I can tone it down on volcano and at the end stages where I just get annihilated on the higher settings. And I hadn't realized that my familiar was blocking the little throwing star looking shots, so I'm glad I watched. :)
